Welcome!


This year during our Guidance lessons students have been exposed to a variety of topics . . .

3rd grade:
community rules, feelings, empathy, emotion regulation, perspective taking, conflict resolution, bullying prevention and intervention strategies, and kindness

 4th grade: community rules, impulse control, conflict resolution, the art of the apology, frustration tolerance, peer pressure, harmful teasing, bullying prevention and intervention strategies, and collaborative work

5th grade: community rules, positive relationships, peer pressure, cliques, rumors and gossip, harmful teasing, conflict resolution, bullying prevention and intervention strategies, and the power of positive thinking


In addition, students have been learning at the beginning of each Guidance lesson about Mindfulness or noticing what is happening right now (what they are thinking and feeling) without judgment.  Students have been exposed to many of these activities listed below during their Guidance lessons such as:


Mindful Bodies and Mindful Breathing
Mindful Listening and Body Awareness
Sending Kind Thoughts and Gratefulness
Mindfulness of Thoughts and Emotions
Mindful Test Taking
Mindful Walking, Mindful Looking, and Mindful Eating
